MC Blacka

Genre: DnB/Hip Hop Country: UK

MC Blacka was introduced to D&B as a raver in 1993 where he was a regular attendee of many drum & bass events.  He was naturally inspired and started to practise his form doing mixes with his cousin.

Originally a lover of hip-hop, his deep set roots influenced the type of lyrics MC Blacka wanted to write.  Due to the style and fastness of D&B Blacka knew that he could combine his style of lyrical content, having maximum impact as a new forthcoming artist in the industry.

In 1995, Blacka’s career was firmly launched at ‘New Lick’ alongside Brockie & Det and he quickly progressed through mixed tapes with Krazy K and actively promoted himself to the future generation performing at a series of under 18’s events.
MC Blacka’s confidence quickly grew as he promoted himself through various radios shows including Rinse, Pressure & Rude FM and in 98-99 his first international performance in Bulgaria came from an appearance on internet radio.

In 2005, MC Blacka guested for Kool FM and from here his roots were firmly imprinted in the industry.  Progression was hard and fast and better known for his dark style ‘Renegade Hardware’ took Blacka under their wing as a resident.  Main room appearances for ‘Breakin Science’, Future Sounds, Jungle Fever & Kool London substantially gained him acknowledgment and respect from some of the leading D&B artists and record labels and the youth of today by teaching at the UK MC & DJ Academy with Lady MC.

‘Who’s that?’ with Double T released on Grid Recordings was the introduction needed to the international scene and European bookings in Barcelona & Germany were imminent.  His success as an international artist was inevitable and his Asian tour lead to performances in Singapore, Russia & Japan, as well as festivals such as ‘Global Gathering’, ‘One Love’ & Glastonbury.
2007 saw the launch of MC Blacka’s career with Worldclass Management who acknowledged him as a professional artist and took over the management of his career.  Now with a definite business plan and fully structured future MC Blacka will see the launch of his new clothing line ‘Creep’ and a production schedule that is sure to impress.
